IHU strengthens the financial capacity and market connections of enterprises, cooperatives and farmer organizations, so that viable businesses can grow. We build financial literacy, bookkeeping and record-keeping skills, support business formalization, and prepare enterprises for investment, so they are ready to approach banks, microfinance institutions, investors and other funders. We then link them to financial institutions and investment opportunities that match their size, sector and needs, and we work to make these links accessible and fair for women-led, youth and disability-inclusive enterprises. We work with MSMEs, agripreneurs, producer organizations, women-led enterprises, youth enterprises, persons with disabilities and other underserved entrepreneurs who often struggle to reach both finance and reliable buyers. Through market systems development, we facilitate market linkages, buyer-seller engagement, business-to-business partnerships and enterprise networking, so that producers can sell to better markets at fairer prices and use the income to invest and grow.
